Trying to keep things under wraps when you’re bursting with excitement is not an easy task, and, boy, are we thrilled to finally announce the arrival of our Young Explorerstour range!

We set out to design enchanting tours that would spark children’s imagination and curiosity – tours that would bring the ancient world to life, full of excitement and wonder, mystery and awe. And that’s exactly what we did.

With the help of specialist museum educators and our expert tour guides, we designed three fun itineraries that invite young guests to actively participate in the tour and explore key themes from ancient Greece. Packed to the brim with interactive narratives, games, activities, and storytelling, our new tour range offers genuinely fun learning opportunities that encourage children to engage history on their own terms.

Younger children will be thrilled to explore A Day in the Life of a Young Athenian and learn about the life of Acropolis of Athens - Young Explorerschildren in ancient Greece – not to mention they’ll get a chance to assemble (and take home) their very own ‘ancient Greek’ toy!

Older children can take A Walk Through History with visits to the Parthenon and the major monuments around the Acropolis, where a trove of fun stories and interesting anecdotes will bring the ancient world to life.

Our most comprehensive all-ages family tour, The Myths and Wonders of Ancient Athens covers not just the Parthenon and the Acropolis archaeological area but also includes a family-friendly guided tour of the fabulous Acropolis Museum! And since it’s a slightly longer tour, we’ve included a break for snacks and refreshments—no extra cost!—at the Acropolis Museum Café, with its spectacular view of the Parthenon.

And whilst we’ve designed these tours with a younger audience in mind, we’ve also made sure that they are fun and engaging for accompanying adults. In fact, they might just leave you with that same sense of fascination and wonder that you felt the first time you ever found out about ancient civilizations.

Our Young Explorers tours are available from 11 November, and, with Athens boasting blue skies and moderate temperatures throughout most of the winter, they make for ideal holiday outings – a unique and exciting Christmas present that will create memories to last a lifetime!
