My husband and I took two tours with DGC during our time in Athens and enjoyed both of them very much. We were interested in doing something a little different than the routine tourist sites, and we were not disappointed. We did the private jewelry tour with dinner at the Benacki museum; and then the trip down to Cape Sounion with some sightseeing of the wetlands along the way. Both of our guides (Sotiris and Antigone) were pleasant, friendly, and very knowledgeable. We would easily recommend DGC to our friends and family.

Recently took a discovery tour of Greek culture in Athens and was very impressed with the quality and knowledge of our tour guide. We did a tour of the Acropolis and local neighborhoods and enjoyed the insights given by our tour guide Antigone. She is an archaeologist who has a lot of knowledge to share. Would recommend them highly.

“Great tour with our guide Eva, who has a strong knowledge of the site as well as the ancient greek mythology and way of life. She answered all our questions which were numerous. Moreover, she adapted the tour for my son of 10 years old so he could find interest in the visit. We went to the Parthenon and ended up in the museum with a break at the cafetaria as it was really hot. We are very happy with this visit and understood much better the complexity of this ancient era.”

“The half day tour was organised by my new company to give us an introduction to Athens and Greek culture. We had a fabulous experience. With a guided tour of the Acropolis & the Acropolis museum, a walk through Plaka and a wonderful Fine Wine experience where we sample delicious Greek wine & delicacies. Our field expert, Sotiris was fantastic. He was knowledgable, we expected that, he was also very engaging and very clearly passionate about Athens, it’s history & culture, bravo Sotiris. I would highly recommend Discover Greek Culture, and if you are fortunate enough to have Sotiris accompany you then ask to visit the art gallery for a real treat!”

“Embarking on a tour with Discover Greek Culture was one of the highlights of my days in Athens. I was expecting to see the famous landmarks, such as the Acropolis, which we did. However, what was indeed amazing, was visiting many of the places usually inaccessible to tourists. For example, we were taken to a private house in the area of Plaka to meet the owner and to see the marvelous archaeological ruins displayed underneath the glass floor in his dining room. I had no idea, that Greek homes actually stood on parts of ancient Greece. Another thing I loved was meeting local artists at work in their gallery. I would definitely recommend this very interesting and eye-opening tour to people visiting Athens.”

“I have been in Athens for about a month, but the Discover Greek Culture Tour really showed me a different side to the city. Yes, we went to the acropolis but we also had a tour of the National Gardens with a horticulturalist, sampled Greek wines and met artists working in the heart of Athens.
Our guide was friendly, very well-informed and enthusiastic about this great city.
Discover Greek Culture tours are a great way to discover more about Athens than the usual tourist sites.”
